JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: We are searching for a self-motivated customer service focused Research Computing Systems Engineer to join our Research Office Information Technology Division at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University. ARL's purpose is to research and develop innovative solutions to challenging scientific, engineering, and technology problems in support of the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intel Community (IC). The Research Office Information Technology Division provides systems design, administration, and support services for the enablement of key research functions. This is a customer focused position where responsibilities are driven by the ever-changing needs of research projects. Ideal candidates will possess a broad scope of information technology (IT) skills coupled with the drive and ability to learn and adapt quickly to emerging research needs. Your working location will be on-site, located in State College, PA. There is the possibility of some hybrid on-site/work from home. This position may require periodic travel to remote locations in support of testing, but that will generally be limited in scope to less than 1% of the time.
