Our Senior Manufacturing Controls Engineer will lead automation projects and support other global projects for our 20+ production facilities with strong electrical and controls focus that aligns with strategic goals. This will include capital expenditure projects, cost improvement projects, automated production equipment monitoring, equipment troubleshooting support, and various other projects. WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Apply strong electrical and controls automation skills to develop technical requirements for outside vendors to bid and construct custom machines and control systems
- Lead the design, implementation, and commissioning of automated manufacturing production lines utilizing the appropriate technology
- As a project leader, develop a complete project plan including resources, costs, benefits and schedule; assume full responsibility for all aspects of the project to ensure it meets goals and schedule; communicate project status to stakeholders as appropriate; and follow up to ensure project results are sustained.
- Lead and support capital expenditure requests and implementations using basic cost justification and business management principles.
- Lead global or regional standards evaluation, creation, development, and deployment for automation, electrical hardware, and controls systems
- Lead global communication on automation, electrical and controls best practices
- Participate in design reviews to evaluate all aspects of designs including safety, mechanical robustness, and electrical/controls standardization
YOU HAVE:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related degree
- 5+ years proven experience developing factory automation systems
- Detailed experience with Human Machine Interface (HMI), control systems, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) (Allen Bradley / Rockwell, Siemens, Omron) and control components
- Structured trouble shooting and problem solving skills
- Automated machine design experience preferred
- Previous experience with robotics preferred
- Travel: 20%

Pay Transparency
nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range: $89,300.00 - $165,800.00
