Job Description:Manages the various employee benefit programs, including but not limited to life and health insurance, disability, defined benefit and defined contribution deferred compensation plans pension, profit-sharing and related programs. Provides guidance and serves as trusted counsel to executive leaders and management on all benefits plans. Serves as a key advisor to the John Muir Health Retirement Plan Committee. Manages staff in Benefits Department. Monitors processing of employee benefit claims, surveying competitor benefit programs, requiring emerging benefit practices, and counseling employees regarding benefit status.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Human Resource Management - Required or

  • Bachelor's Degree - Related Field - Required or

  • 7+ years - Health & Welfare and Retirement plan experience in lieu of degree

Experience:

  • 5+ years - Human Resources - Benefit and Retirement Administration - Required

  • 5+ years experience with Healthcare - Benefits in Health System - Strongly Preferred

  • 3+ years Management - Supervisory Position with Managing Direct Reports - Preferred

  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist - Preferred

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in working with and developing various Benefit Administration Plans, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance Pension, Retirement, 403b

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Advanced level Excel skills required

  • Intermediate HRIS skills required, Workday preferred

  • Experience with Executive level benefits preferred

  • Strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills, consensus building skills.

  • Demonstrated HR analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • A high degree of organizational skills, ability to set priorities, manage multiple demands and the ability to complete tasks under strict time lines is required.

  • Work cooperatively in a team environment.

Work Shift:Exempt Salaried (United States of America)

Pay Range:

$146,398.00 - $219,597.00 Salary
Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word 'exempt' on it.
