Job Summary

Assist with concrete and aggregate material testing to ensure adherence to federal, state, and/or customer specifications. Assist with laboratory inventory, QC sampling, frequency and schedule, data entry/reporting, and other lab responsibilities.Work performed in the lab and in the field as needed. This position supports multiple locations in Ohio - Sidney, Ludlow Falls, Fairborn, & West Carrollton as well as Richmond, IN.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read, understand, and have a good working knowledge of the basic specifications, principles, and products associated with the construction / aggregate / concrete industry.
  • Recognize actual and potential problems related to quality control operations.
  • Inspect products for quality, identify and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Keep lab in neat clean and professional order.
  • Keep certifications, and qualifications up to date through seminars, meetings, testing, etc. as necessary.
  • Ensure all quality control activities are conducted in conformance with company policies, regulatory agencies, and acceptable working practices.
  • Implement measures to improve quality control methods, equipment, performance, service, safety and quality of products.
  • Ensure that accurate test results are reported daily and on time.
  • Review and analyze test results to determine conformity with product specifications as required.
Skills
  • Knowledge of concrete and aggregate quality control data preferred
  • Experience with various concrete and aggregate lab equipment
  • Ability to work with large volumes of numerical data
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to use computers and software
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to work with others as a team
  • Responsible, reliable, and dependable
Physical Requirements
  • Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Able to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
  • Able to work in wet and/or dry conditions and extreme heat and cold
