The firm is seeking a full-time entry level Risk Management Legal Assistant to join our New York Office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Taking a team-focused and collaborative approach to:

    • Assist the firm's Office of General Counsel in providing legal and risk management support to the firm and its personnel
    • Communicate with firm partners, associates, other lawyers and staff members on a regular basis
    • Respond to questions about the firm's key risk management policies
    • Assist in maintaining up-to-date conflicts databases
    • Develop practice area expertise and contribute to trainings
    • Cultivate professional relationships with firm personnel


  • Working in a detail-oriented and organized manner to:

    • Revise and update internal firm documents
    • Assist members of the Office of General Counsel with projects relating to risk management support, including conflicts and the implementation of professional responsibility obligations
    • Help establish and maintain certain internal information screens
    • Review and analyze engagement letters and client outside counsel guidelines
    • Assist with legal and ethics research and analysis
    • Draft materials for internal firm trainings




REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school with a minimum 3.5 G.P.A.
  • Willingness to make a two-year commitment to the firm
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication talents and a professional manner for all business interactions
  • Ability to take ownership of job responsibilities and meet deadlines with minimal oversight and direction
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks under time constraints
  • Ability to work overtime, to travel when needed
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
