Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Biomedical Engineering, incumbent provides financial and technical analyses and reporting in support of the efficient functioning of the Biomedical Engineering department. Analyzes equipment inventory management and expenditures, along with New Equipment Capital Management and Planning. Tracks and trends equipment repair and preventive maintenance recalls and Incident reporting, along with Investigation and reporting. Provides budget and expense analyses of Service Contracts and provides support of negotiating Terms and Conditions of Contracts along with Review of costs and determination of service delivery. Manages service agreements and renewals. Also provides technical support when needed to support Vacations, Sick and other service delivery needs at the Direction of the Director.

Required Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of the Medical Equipment Management System
  • Understanding and previous experience maintaining multiple alpha and numeric filing systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Prior experience in Purchasing function
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Knowledge of basic Accounting Principles
  • Knowledge of Equipment service needs across a variety of medical devices.
  • Has worked in a Biomedical Engineering environment.
  • Has negotiated service contracts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated excellent data entry skills
  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or related area or 2 years of relevant education or experience in a hospital setting
  • Ability to produce work that is consistently accurate and proofread own work for the purpose of correcting errors
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of computer medical equipment data management system (CMMS)
  • Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
