JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Lopez-Uribe and Schilder Labs seek an Ecophysiology Research Technologist to support field and laboratory research on ecophysiology-related projects. The person hired in this position must have previous experience with manipulation of insects in the lab and in field conditions, and be proficient with data acquisition hardware, and in custom tool fabrication and data analysis. While independent research is supported and encouraged, it is not part of regular duties. The person in this position will also provide field and lab assistance to graduate students in our group and will assist with basic management duties of the lab (e.g., ordering supplies, submitting p-card receipts, laboratory inspections, etc.).

This is a benefited, full-time research technologist position. This is a limited term position funded for one year from date of hire with the possibility of refunding for up to one additional year, contingent upon job performance. Options for remote work are not possible due to the type of position.

Education and Experience:

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in entomology, ecology, biology, or related fields of study. The person in this position is required to work in teams and may need to drive to field sites around Pennsylvania to perform field work and collect data, which requires working long days in the field. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$34,800.00 - $50,500.00
