The opportunity:

The Content and Writing Specialist role is accountable for working with team leaders to develop strategy, content, and written materials to be used across multiple channels, both internally and externally. His/her work supports Business Development growth goals and partnership pursuits including the management of writing assigned Portfolio (subset) of health plan/state new business and retention proposals, market engagement assets and collateral, and presentation development.

The Content and Writing Specialist is responsible for staying on top of new opportunities, prioritizing and managing that stream of information for his/her assignments, and leveraging learned knowledge from competitive intelligence, sales, government relations and capture proposal management channels, to maximize content messaging and impact for audience. He/she will be skilled at writing persuasive, thought provoking, detailed and meaningful content that motivates conversion with potential partners, informs the larger organization, celebrates successes, and drive awareness of our mission, capabilities, and efforts to external stakeholders. He/she should constantly seek ways to improve offerings that compel partners, evaluators, and stakeholders.

How you will contribute:

  • Create and design compelling written communications and collateral to sell business and inform external and internal stakeholders

  • Manage and draft request for proposal (RFP) responses that address all stated requirements to ensure full compliance with client requests

  • Research, write, edit, and organize ideas that translate into optimizing points for any given proposal and/or section

  • Assist in the review of RFP requirements and scope of work to determine the information needed for specific proposals

  • Support and drive the development of images, infographics, videos, and other rich media that support content, presentation and collateral impact and story

  • Leverage existing assets, content libraries to simplify and optimize for alternative content and collateral creation.

  • Create content that meets industry and state-based compliance and regulatory requirements.

  • Work in collaboration with marketing to ensure that all content is consistent with our brand voice, style and tone.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry, market, and content trends and drive the creation of new process and techniques to incorporate into process, innovation and response themes

  • Manage content workflow, including internal stakeholder and legal/compliance review.

  • Participate in multiple projects simultaneously, working to ensure projects are delivered on time

  • Use critical thinking techniques to overcome obstacles and write original content, set effective expectations, manage change, escalate issues, and proactively seek resolution.

  • Track content effectiveness: analyze, review and report on large projects to assess what worked and what were challenges, and provide recommendations

  • Other duties as needed or required.

What you will bring with you:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Marketing and Sales or other related field.

  • 3-5 years in marketing and/or content creation role, 1-2 years in a management position.

  • Understanding of industry and overall business, attention to detail, ability to adapt technical details to clients and internal staff, good communication and human relation skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent grammar and editing skills

  • Organized, extremely attentive to details, and able to prioritize tasks appropriately.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems.

  • Ability to work under pressure and changing priorities.

  • Ability to lead, direct and manage the work of others.

  • Ability to motivate a team to produce quality work within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.

  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

  • Some overnight, out-of-state travel

  • Attends additional training as requested/deemed necessary

Preferred:

  • Experience and knowledge of Medicaid

  • Experience with project management software and methodologies

  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite

  • Knowledge of digital marketing platforms such as HubSpot, Sprnklr, CRM tools.

  • Knowledge of AP Style

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Incumbent must be able to communicate effectively.

  • Requires overall light physical effort (up to 25lbs.)

  • Manual dexterity and sitting is required in carrying out position own position responsibilities (i.e. use of personal compute).

  • Ability to travel or move about within and outside serviced facilities required.

  • Incumbent works primarily in either a private or shared office environment.

Salary Range: $64,400 - $96,600

Your actual base salary will be determined based on your unique skills, qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location. In addition to your base salary, this position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award based on your individual performance as well as the overall performance of the business.
