Job Summary

Barrett Paving Materials Inc., Internship program is designed to educate the candidate (current college student) about the different aspects of safety within the aggregate and ready-mix industry. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Safety Specialist to understand our safety program and the importance of Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) & Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) safety regulations.
  • Complete mutually beneficial projects
  • Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
  • Learning how to work as part of the region team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Some travel required
Education
  • Enrolled in a relevant safety management, occupational health and safety, or related Bachelor's degree program
