Job Summary

Strawser Construction Inc.a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers' needs.We are currently looking for aForepersonfor a Crack Seal Crew. This person will directly oversee the daily activities of the assigned crew.

Main Responsibilities
  • Facilitate daily safety meetings
  • Plan/Coordinate daily and weekly activities and adjust according to weather conditions i.e. road pre-trip, traffic control, etc.
  • Collect and provide all pertinent paperwork for timely management of customers' requirements and company procedures for invoicing, payroll, payable, etc.
  • Ensure work progresses according to project schedule and verify that materials and equipment are delivered to the site on time
  • Interface with project officials and inspectors regarding worksite activities
  • Work with Shop Manager to ensure proper and timely preventative maintenance is performed on all equipment and emergency repairs
  • Use various computer programs for tasks like time keeping, expense reports etc
  • Act as the first point of contact for all employee concerns and address accordingly
  • Promptly report all incidents or accidents to Supervisor/Safety Officer
  • Actively works to develop and retain crew
  • Adhere to all Strawser safety regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Must have a valid CDL driver's license and a good driving record
  • 3-5 years of construction experience preferred
  • Proficient computer and math skills required
  • Required to work varying hours, including nights/weekends, and overnight travel with overnight stays
  • Must be able to travel 75-90% of time
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills required
  • Previous supervisory/leadership experience a plus
  • Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Regularly required to climb in and out of vehicles and/or equipment
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Regularly required to stand and walk across uneven terrain
