About the Job

The Director of IT Operations is responsible for leading the strategy, architecture, implementation, and continuous improvement of IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, and operational support systems. This role ensures high
availability, security, and scalability of IT services while aligning technology initiatives with business objectives. The director leads cross-functional IT teams, manages technology vendors, and drives automation, process optimization, and innovation within the organization.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Infrastructure & IT Operations Management:

  • Oversee and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure, including cloud platforms, on-premises systems, networking, storage, and endpoint management.

  • Maintain and enforce IT policies, standards, and best practices to ensure system reliability, performance, and security and make revisions to policy as needed.

  • Design and implement system monitoring, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic upgrades to optimize IT operations.

Enterprise Applications, Power Platform & Systems Integration:

  • Manage the administration and enhancement of enterprise applications, ensuring seamless integrations across business platforms with strong skillsets in Microsoft 365 and Azure.

  • Lead Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) initiatives to automate workflows, streamline processes, and enhance user experience.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze workflows, and implement technology solutions that enhance operational effectiveness.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and security frameworks across all IT systems.

IT Governance, Security, & Risk Management:

  • Implement cybersecurity measures, access controls, and compliance protocols to safeguard company data and systems.

  • Oversee IT asset management, ensuring optimal lifecycle management of hardware and software.

  • Establish and maintain IT service management (ITSM) frameworks to improve incident, problem, and change management processes.

  • Establish service catalog and setting SLA's for items within.

Team Leadership & Vendor Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of IT professionals, fostering continuous learning and growth.

  • Lead IT Service Delivery Team

  • Be an adaptive and decisive leader, willing to adjust strategies based on evolving business needs.

  • Build a strong IT culture that emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

  • Manage vendor relationships, including negotiations, service agreements, and performance evaluations.

  • Coordinate with external partners for implementation, support, and maintenance of IT solutions.

Non-essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Education, Work Experience, & Physical Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 7-9 years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure, or enterprise applications management.

  • Experience in multifamily and construction real estate IT environments is a plus.

  • Proven track record of system implementation and conversions across enterprise IT platforms.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networking, cloud computing, virtualization, and endpoint management.

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint administration.

  • Experience with enterprise software integrations, APIs, and automation tools.

  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices, identity & access management (IAM), and compliance frameworks.

  • Expertise in IT service management (ITSM) methodologies, including ITIL principles.

  • Experience in managing and collaborating with software vendors, developers, and external IT service providers.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and develop teams.

  • Willingness to adapt to shifting business needs and technology trends.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.

  • A customer-centric mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, Microsoft Azure, or CISSP are a plus.

  • Experience in managing Microsoft Azure environments and hybrid cloud infrastructures.

  • Familiarity with endpoint security, mobile device management (MDM), and Zero Trust security models.
