The School of Natural Resources Job Description
* The position will require working closely with US Geological Survey staff housed at the University as well as the main office in Reston, VA, and staff and faculty in the School of Natural Resources at the University of Missouri. * Be the point of contact for all new Unit students and staff for federal onboarding requirements. * Be up to date on federal requirements for project reporting, student safety training requirements, jobs hazards analyses, vehicle fleet utilization, travel, and other requirements. * Work with students and staff of the Missouri Unit for federal property management (inventory, surplus, maintenance) and purchasing. * Reconcile federal requirements for monthly and annual reporting of project accounts. * Lead the organization of Cooperative Research Unit reporting requirements including the annual Coordinating Committee meeting and Biennial Coop Unit report. * Work with scientists to submit required paperwork (e.g., interagency agreements, funding authorizations, reports) to meet deadlines and other reporting requirements. * Maintain database of past students, and their current employment. * Mentor others in completing office and administrative duties. * Work closely with the School of Natural Resources administrative staff, especially when help is needed to meet university deadlines and obligations. High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications
* Strong attention to detail * Ability to communicate effectively * Work with limited day to day supervision * Ability to work with a team to include university staff, federal staff, and university students * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. * Self motivation to meet deadlines without prodding.
