Senior Business Intelligence Analyst (HR Compensation)

Overview

Compensation plays a central role in the success of attracting, engaging, and retaining great talent. We seek a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst who has demonstrated proficiency in statistical analysis techniques and strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a desire to contribute to ensuring Navy Federal's compensation programs achieve their intended goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, aggregate, and analyze data from multiple sources, including structured and unstructured data sets, to drive insights into business performance, industry trends, and to the competitiveness of the Company's pay programs
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns and prepare ongoing reports and data visualizations in order to support business decisions
  • Retrieve data from Oracle HCM and develop tools to support the compensation Team with consulting efforts
  • Develop, maintain, and manage advanced reporting, dashboards, and BI solutions
  • Produce actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement into current operations, and display root cause analysis of problems
  • Use analytics and metrics to improve processes and provide data-driven forecasts of potential costs, risks, and profits of new business initiatives
  • Provide primary support for the Corporate Compensation Annual Financial Plan from a modeling and costing perspective of standard and new enterprise compensation initiatives and programs
  • Communicate findings and insight to stakeholders and provide business strategy recommendations for optimizing business performance
  • Provide reporting solutions and respond to ad-hoc report requests within the business area
  • Create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements
  • Build working relationships with team members and subject matter experts
  • Lead small projects and initiatives

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in data analysis and reporting
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of business area/specialization
  • Advanced skill using business intelligence applications and/or cloud services
  • Advanced knowledge of reporting capabilities of existing ERP, CRM and/or database software vendors
  • Advanced skill using statistical methods, mathematical techniques, forecasting, cost-benefit analysis
  • Advanced skill in complex data manipulation across multiple tables
  • Effective data integration, cleaning and validation skills
  • Skill communicating data analysis and visualizations to nontechnical and senior audiences
  • Skill with data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R
  • Research skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate skill in utilizing work products to tell a story through appropriate balance of visualizations, design aesthetics, and words
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, or related field

Desired Qualification(s)

  • Expert skill in communicating complex ideas to non-technical people; presenting, negotiating, and persuading to reach agreeable exchanges and positive outcomes
  • Significant experience translating data into insightful stories to drive strong decision making
  • Advanced knowledge of compensation principles, practices, and techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of the relationships between Compensation, other HR functions and business operations
  • Experience conducting budget/expense analysis, developing cost models and pricing alternative proposals to inform decision making
  • Advanced experience with tools leveraged to conduct financial analysis, present findings, and track financial performance data
