Graduate Research assistants are generally assigned to individual faculty members to assist with their research, and the majority of the assigned duties are tied to this research. The nature of the assistance varies by discipline and can involve a variety of activities such as:
- Library and Resource Room upkeep
- News Publication writing
- Data gathering
- Data analysis
- Social Media
- Student Recruitment
- Office duties
- Running errands
- Routine cleaning tasks
- Use of Microsoft Suite

For this position, duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Assisting the Director and Assistant Director as needed, including helping with WGSS Annual Symposium, community outreach, and other WGSS programming; updating to the social media sites and assistance in electronic production of newsletters; tabling and outreach, drafting and composing program publications; keeping the program web site updated; and maintaining Resource Room library resources.
2. Internet and library research for director, assistant director, and faculty.

2. Must be a degree-seeking graduate student at Illinois State University.

20 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday; some evening and weekend hours for programming as needed.

Illinois State University student employees are restricted to no more than 28 hours per week of on-campus employment for all positions held. International students are restricted by their visa status to no more than 20 hours per week of on-campus employment when the university is in session but may work up to 28 hours per week when the university is not in session.
