What Will Be Your Purpose

The Security Operations Center Operator operates the telecommunications, alarm monitoring, closed circuit television (CCTV), access control, and life safety systems for all GuideWell properties. The Security Operations Center Operator is the intermediary between emergency situations and emergency response personnel; conveying information to the emergency personnel and ensuring appropriate response to observed conditions.

  • This is an onsite role and will service our Jacksonville, FL and Orange Park, FL Campuses
  • Will require some weekend and On call days


What Will You Be Doing



  • Operate the telecommunications, alarm monitoring, closed circuit television (CCTV), access control, and life safety systems for all GuideWell properties
  • Receive information via multiple communications or monitoring systems, evaluate the situation, and initiate appropriate response, including dispatching Security Officers, police, fire, and rescue agencies to emergency situations
  • Monitor access control, CCTV, life safety systems, network wide point of access and emergency intercom systems for state changes and responds accordingly
  • Monitor access control user activity for policy violations, documents infractions and notifies management as required
  • Maintain up to date working knowledge of department policies and procedures, emergency response guidelines and best practices in order to direct calls for service to the appropriate person or area
  • Serve as the intermediary between emergency situations and emergency response personnel, conveying information to the emergency personnel and ensuring appropriate response to observed conditions
  • Coordinate communications in the event of natural or man-made disasters, loss of power, fire, or any critical incident affecting BCBSF directly or indirectly
  • Support Facilities Services help desk by answering after-hour calls for service, logging work orders into work order management system and dispatching accordingly
  • Monitor local, national, and international events that may impact BCBSF sites and associates across the state and report events to appropriate management
  • Disable access badges after hours on request to ensure no unauthorized access occurs
  • Administer password profiles for visitor management, access control, and CCTV systems
  • Administer lost and found program
  • Create, issue and approve visitor badge/credential access as appropriate
  • Retain documentation required for access audits


What You Must Have



  • 4+ years related work experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • First Aid/CPR Certification or the willingness to obtain certification within 30 days of accepting position
  • Willingness to work in a security console environment (confined, windowless control room for entire shift)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability working rotating weekends and holidays on a regular basis, as well as, on-call additional weekends on a rotational basis


What We Prefer



  • Associates degree, particularly in computer related field
  • Certified First Aid/CPR trained
  • Previous Security Console Operator experience within a corporate environment
  • Experience in 911 call center


General Physical Demands



  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
  • Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
  • Must be able to travel to multiple locations for work (i.e. travel to attend meetings, events, conferences).
  • Occasionally May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions of cold, heat, wet, and humidity.
  • Occasionally Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, or other equipment. Occasionally

Typical Hourly Pay Range: $21.34 - $26.68

Hourly Pay Range: $21.34 - $34.61

Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
