Garden Maintenance Supervisor

Barnard Land & Livestock is seeking self-motivated, hardworking Garden Maintenance Supervisor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing various tasks related to the garden maintenance and operation of the ranch. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. Ideal candidate will have their own truck. However, there is support for plant acquisition, debris removal etc.

Must have a general knowledge of zone 4 annuals and perennials.

* Willingness/motivation to do research when a problem arises that you are unfamiliar with.

* The ability to promptly and effectively communicate with the landscape team when they need help or something is beyond their scope of work.

* Possess landscape and irrigation knowledge.

* Ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 25 pounds

* Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl

* Ability to maintain balance

* Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, reach for, handle, and manipulate items and to work in extreme weather conditions (cold and wet)

* Able to work full time with occasional irregular hours.

* Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

* Troubleshoot issues with plant health and growth.

* Proactively ensure that plant disease, insect and water needs are addressed.

* Weed control and mitigation.

* Operate power tools for garden and landscape maintenance

* Maintain cleanliness and organization.

* Deadheading, and planting perennials and annuals.

* Deadheading and planting roses.

* Light pruning of shrubs.

* Oversee and provide training to laborers.
