Sponsored Program Admin Job Description
Professional research administration position that focuses on post-award grant/contract activities using a career progression plan for measurable success and advancement opportunities. This position collaborates with the team lead on the administration of grants awarded to the University, including providing analytical oversight, fulfilling compliance requirements, and performing post-award accounting for grants and contracts. Must be able to adhere to strict deadlines on invoicing, financial reporting, and other related activities involved in the management of grants and contracts. Must have strong customer service skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. This position works closely with staff in other departments, stays abreast of new regulations and guidance from sponsoring agencies, researches and resolves problems, and proactively ensures grant and contracts administration complies with institutional policies and procedures. Must be able to effectively communicate information to faculty and staff related to grants and contracts activities. Ability to perform as a self-starter with high-level initiative, strong work ethic, and good organization skills are a must. Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills are required as well as the ability to multi-task and manage a high volume of e-mail in a deadline-driven environment. Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
An accounting background and a familiarity with financial statements is preferred. Anticipated Hiring Range
