Overview

A Senior Engineer is responsible for designing and developing entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals. You have to ensure that solutions are well architected, with maintainability and ease of testing built in from the outset, and that they can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow. You will have gained significant experience through multiple implementations and have begun to develop both depth and breadth in a number of engineering competencies. You should have extensive knowledge of design and architectural patterns. You will provide engineering thought leadership within their teams, and will play a role in mentoring and coaching of less experienced engineers.

What You'll Do

  • Operate as a key team member in a Scrum Agile/Kanban environment, designing, developing, and reviewing code

  • Lead development of data sourcing, analytics, and scenarios on Hadoop/ Global Control Programme (GCP) platforms

  • Ensure new code is tested, integrated into automation, and coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA) for continuous testing

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex software problems

  • Mentor junior engineers and support the Engineering Manager in enhancing team development

  • Write secure, efficient code and support L3 Production issues, including investigation and resolution

Skills You'll Need

  • Strong programming experience in Java, Scala, and Python, with expertise in distributed systems like Spark, Hive, and Hadoop

  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, cloud security, and public cloud technologies

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, continuous integration/continuous deployment (or development) (CI/CD) pipelines, and tools like Terraform and Git

  • Experience with cloud security management (KMS, Secret Manager, encryption)

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or related field, or equivalent years of experience in the field

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, Goal-focused self-starter mindset with accountability and ownership

  • Google Cloud Certified Professional - Cloud Security Engineer Certification (Preferable)

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Self-motivated

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $100,000 to $142,250.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
