EnviroScience is seeking a full time Environmental Compliance Services Operations Manager for our Stow, Ohio headquarters office.
The Environmental Compliance Operations Manager, Professional Geologist preferred, will lead and coordinate the Environmental Compliance group in all aspects of multi-media sampling, subsurface investigations, sediment and waste characterization, ESA activities, NEPA, and permitting. This manager will take an active role in developing and executing technical scopes of work and budgets for proposals and reports. This role involves collaborating with various teams to deliver innovative solutions in environmental sciences, developing a strategic approach to operational efficiency and quality control while working closely with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal departments. The ideal candidate will have a background in environmental or related science, management experience, leadership, client communications and a thorough understanding of environmental laws and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management
* Supervise and provide direction to a team of scientists and project managers throughout the company's local and regional offices.
* Provide mentorship and training to managers and technical staff to enhance their skills and knowledge of supervising environmental compliance projects, ensuring timelines, and meeting budgets.
* Facilitate regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing mentorship to team members.
* Foster a collaborative work environment to enhance productivity and team cohesion.
Operations and Project Oversight
* Oversee scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation for projects.
* Supervise the implementation of environmental site assessments, subsurface investigations, environmental permitting, and multi-media sampling projects completed by staff and ensure accuracy and quality.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and operational efficiency.
* Review and authorize invoices for projects.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
* Review draft documents prepared by managers and staff to ensure compliance with relevant environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards including, but not limited to NPDES, NEPA, RCRA, CWA, Phase I & II ESA, etc.
* Ensure that company health, safety, and environmental standards are consistently adhered to throughout all phases of project work.
* Develop and implement quality control protocols to maintain a high standard of services.
* Ensure that operational procedures to reflect current environmental laws and regulations.
* Ensure that scope of service and request for proposal documents include comprehensive costing, clear outlines of work to be performed, and appropriate technical data where necessary.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
* Address any client concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
* Develop long-term relationships with clients to foster repeat business and referrals.
* Business development with clients and managing new and upcoming projects for the Environmental Compliance team.
* Collaborate with government agencies, non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders to advance environmental projects and conservation efforts.
Technical Expertise
* Execute and oversee editing and release of project deliverable such as reports and technical materials.
* Have the proven ability to complete concurrent assignments in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and stay on schedule.
* Present research findings to clients, stakeholders, and at scientific conferences or workshops.
* Create and provide approval of project proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for compliance projects developed by staff.

* Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 lbs.
* Working outdoors in all kinds of weather as necessary for project(s).
* Walking for periods of time including maneuvering uneven, uphill, and downhill terrain, project specific.
Travel Requirements: Candidate should have the ability to periodically assist with field assignments as needed. Occasional overnight travel may be necessary on a project-specific basis.
