Job Summary: The Accountant I position is responsible for day-to-day duties associated with managing the financial obligations for the company. They will provide timely and accurate preparation of journal entries and other accounting analysis with minimum supervision. This position provides analysis and inputs to ensure accuracy and correct accounting interpretation, reconcile general ledger account balances and to investigate and resolve reconciling items. Must have ability to extract, compile, analyze and maintain financial and operational data for internal metrics reporting. Will generate monthly, quarterly and year end reporting and validate information for management and required DCAA submissions. This is also a learning role to use existing knowledge and newly acquired skills related to the DCAA Government Accounting domain. The Accountant I will use critical thinking to solve problems, exercise analytical skills, and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with the assigned supervisor, and staying focused on the assigned tasks.
