JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Senior Director of Educational Affairs provides strategic leadership and oversight across multiple units, ensuring alignment with institutional goals. This role is responsible for workforce planning, setting objectives, and integrating the vision and mission of the department into its operations. The Senior Director fosters collaboration, drives program development, and ensures the effective delivery of services across various educational units, including the Office of Medical Education, Student Admissions, Registrar, Student Aid, Global Health, Science of Health Systems, regional campuses, and the Physician Assistant Program.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Workforce Planning

  • Directs workforce planning and unit operations to achieve educational program goals.
  • Champions innovative strategies to enhance policies and processes.
  • Leads strategic HR initiatives, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management for a staff of 60+.
  • Works with unit directors to set performance standards and align positions with institutional needs.

Accreditation & Financial Oversight

  • Ensures compliance with all legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
  • Develops, implements, and administers policies to maintain institutional compliance.
  • Oversees complex budgets, ensuring fiscal sustainability and resource optimization.
  • Maintains strategic relationships with national and state accrediting bodies to support ongoing medical school accreditation.

University-Wide Impact & Strategic Initiatives

  • Manages high-impact projects that influence the broader university community.
  • Leads and directs various internal and external committees to drive institutional initiatives.
  • Develops and enhances quality improvement strategies, policies, and procedures that support the university's mission and long-term success.

Minimum Education and Experience

This position will be filled at an Senior Manager or Principal Manager depending on the candidate's education and experience. This position requires a Master's Degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, includes 3+ years of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional education and/or experience required for higher level positions.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$76,700.00 - $129,500.00
