Product Introduction (PI) Technician

Could you be the full-time Product Introduction (PI) Technician we're looking for?

Your future role

As a PI Technician, you will cooperate with various teams across our business and be responsible for troubleshooting Alstom products at customer sites to ensure their optimal availability. Your role will also involve providing technical expertise to subcontractors, the warranty support team, and project members, as well as mentoring less experienced field operators.

Salary: $37/hour

We will look to you for:



  • Compliance with Alstom and customer EHS policies and procedures at customer sites.
  • Troubleshooting, including investigation and repair during the PI period, as well as pre-warranty and commissioning activities.
  • Conducting fleet check activities and reporting deviations in the Failure Management database.
  • Supporting specific technical investigations in collaboration with Engineering or suppliers.
  • Ensuring effective information flow within the Troubleshooting and Customer Site Warranty team.
  • Assisting with helpdesk activities when required.
  • Implementing Field Modifications (FM) as necessary.
  • Contributing to the Return of Experience through recommendations for preventive and corrective actions and suggestions for product enhancements.
  • Providing feedback to PI management on customer satisfaction and product performance.


All about you

We seek candidates with a strong desire to learn, whether through mechanical or electrical aptitude, and a drive to independently discover root causes. Your ability to maintain a collaborative attitude and effective communication skills is crucial. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:



  • Flexibility, with agility as a core work value, including the ability to travel for business on short notice (approximately every 2 months for 2-4 day trips).
  • Capability to adjust daily activities to accommodate stakeholder needs and environmental changes.


Education Requirements



  • A degree in a relevant field or a strong passion combined with relevant experience in mechanical, electrical/electronic, and IT fields.
  • Completion of internal EHS training.
  • Fluent English communication skills.


Experience



  • Minimum of two years in technical roles related to mechanical or electrical/electronics applications.
  • Field experience demonstrating a structured and organized, hands-on approach.
  • Strong supporter of teamwork complemented by excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
