Summary: The Unit Deployment Manager & Site Lead will support the PACAF Aviation Squadron Administrative Support for the U.S. Air Force, overseeing deployment operations and managing contract personnel. This position is responsible for preparing and processing individuals for deployments and re-deployments to and from combat zones, exercises, and other operational locations in compliance with U.S. Government, Department of Defense (DoD), Air Force (AF), COCOM, and applicable guidance. Additionally, as a Site Lead, this role will provide team leadership, personnel supervision, and operational oversight to ensure contract performance and mission success.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervise and provide directions to contract personnel, ensuring proper workload distribution and mission execution.
- Manage team schedules to ensure continuous coverage and mission readiness.
- Approve timesheets, oversee work performance, and provide corrective counseling as needed.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for contract staff, liaising with Government leadership and corporate program management.
- Provide input on manning strategies, customer relations, and contract performance improvements.
- Conduct employee performance reviews, feedback sessions, and mentorship to enhance team effectiveness.
- Coordinate and schedule pre-deployment training with deploying personnel, their supervisors, and DOS.
- Utilize Automated Readiness Information System (ARIS) for scheduling Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) and Weapons Training.
- Serve as the Unit Training Manager, ensuring compliance with Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 2A training requirements and additional squadron-directed training.
- Procure, maintain, and distribute deployment equipment in accordance with host base and AFI guidance.
- Develop implementation plans to meet COCOM Unit Prep Message or Pre-Deployment Message reporting requirements.
- Manage deployment reporting using tools such as the Air Expeditionary Force Reporting Tool (ART) and Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS).
- Oversee Unit Type Code (UTC) posturing and individual status updates.
- Ensure all deployable material is properly prepared for customs inspection.
- Track deployment logistics, security, ancillary training, medical, and dental requirements using LOGMOD and Excel.
- Coordinate with Air Mobility Command (AMC) liaison officers, resource advisors, and Government-designated Commercial Travel Offices (CTO) to arrange and de-conflict travel.
- Ensure compliance with deployment-related policies, including DoD Foreign Clearance Guide, AFI 10-405, AFI 10-403, AFI 33-332, and associated AFCENT/MAJCOM/Installation supplements.
- Receive Increment Monitor and forklift training to support palletization and movement of cargo for TDYs and deployments.
- Directly support the commander/director in managing administrative programs and functions.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for key administrative programs such as facility management, equipment custodianship, SharePoint management, and voting assistance.
- Develop communication plans to ensure personnel are informed of program requirements and policies.
- Act as the primary liaison between unit personnel and military/civilian offices for deployment and mobility-related issues.
- Maintain compliance with squadron commander directives, laws, and policies.
- Manage the squadron's Arming and Use of Force Program in accordance with AFI 31-117.
- Support flying training deployments and exercises as a Deputy Project Officer (PROJO), attending site surveys and planning conferences.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with unit personnel and leadership.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, particularly in time-sensitive situations.
- Knowledge of DoD/AF deployment processes, reporting systems, and mobility operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in deployment logistics, military operations, or a similar field.
- Experience supervising personnel or managing administrative teams.
- Citizen with an active Secret clearance.
- Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, or a related field.
- Possesses a Top-Secret clearance.
- One year experience working in a squadron-level or higher mobility office is highly desirable.
