About the Job

The successful candidate who fills this position will be responsible for performing molecular biology procedures (genomic DNA extraction, CRISPR editing), cell culture (immortalized cells and stem cells), and mRNA/protein analyses.

This is a temporary position expected to last through May 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance, availability of work, and departmental/ grant funding.

  • 85% effort related to laboratory research: The candidate will be involved in culturing cells as well as performing a variety of analyses on these cells. For example, DNA, mRNA, and protein analysis as directed by the Principal Investigator
  • 10% effort towards lab organization: The candidate will help ensure the lab runs smoothly by cleaning the lab, keeping track of consumable inventory, and by placing orders.
  • 5% effort writing protocols or other lab materials: The candidate will write up standard operating protocols (SOPs) related to the research work that they complete. These SOPs will be used in the future to ensure rigor and reproducibility of procedures.

BA/BS degree, or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least four years.
