Position Announcement

Utah Tech University (UT) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated faculty member (tenure-track Assistant Professor) to serve as the Simulation Coordinator for the CAATE accredited Professional Master of Athletic Training (MAT) program. Working within the Department of Health and Human Performance, we seek a dynamic educator and simulation coordinator with a vision for inter-professional collaboration and a desire to embrace the UT core theme of "active learning. active life". This appointment will begin July 1, 2025, with teaching to begin Fall Semester 2025. Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Athletic Training (AT) as assigned, plus provide institutional service as defined by University Policy and the College of Health Sciences.
  • Oversee student simulations within the program.
  • Oversee community engagement partnerships.
  • Supervise and coordinate student simulations within the MAT program.
  • Maintain open communication with program director and clinical coordinator.
  • Assist with student advisement.
  • Assist the Program Director and Clinical Coordinator with annual evaluation of program framework as it pertains to the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Earned Doctorate degree (Ph.D., Ed.D. or DAT) in a related field from an accredited institution required.
  • Board of Certification (BOC) Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing.
  • Eligible to obtain AT licensure in the State of Utah.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience as an Athletic Trainer.
  • Experience teaching in an undergraduate and/or graduate CAATE accredited program.

Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time (9-month) tenure-track faculty position. Faculty service begins August 2025, with pay and benefits starting July 1, 2025. Annual salary of $68,000-$72,000 depending on qualifications and experience, with additional compensation available for optional summer/overload teaching.
