General Purpose of Job: The HR Generalist will provide consulting and functional expertise on human resource strategies, organizational development, talent management, labor relations and other organization or HR initiatives.The HR Generalist will act as the front line support for both Caregivers and Leaders with day to day questions related to union contracts, caregiver attendance, compliance concerns and other HR policies and initiatives. This position may also be responsible for working on projects or interim assignments in Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Organizational Development or Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Essential Duties
- Support Caregivers and Leadership with HR policy and Collective Bargaining Agreement questions via electronic and verbal communication methods.
- Provide follow up guidance to Leaders on all cyclical compliance measures throughout the calendar years. This includes flu shots, TB test, licensure & certifications, performance evaluations, fit testing, etc.
- Advise leaders on issuance of attendance disciplines and verify for accuracy as outlined in the applicable HR policy or collective bargaining agreement.
- Conducts follow up discussions and investigate details on basic HIPAA violations in partnership with department leadership.
- Responsible for processing corrective actions, filed grievances and union right to work documentation.
- Coordinates calendars, meetings and meeting minutes for Caregiver Relations leadership and other union or system wide committees as requested.
- Maintains accurate records and timely updates all electronic resources documents including sharepoint, lawson, PPM, etc.
- Provides support to HR and other SHS strategic initiatives by actively participating in projects such as survey preparation, strategic HR initiatives, policy review and updates, etc.
- Functions as the liason between Caregivers, Leaders and other HR work teams as needed based on the project or request received.
- Partners with Total Rewards to support the Leave of Absense Denial process by reviewing, investigating and following documented processes.
- Mentors and supports continued growth of the Caregiver Relations Internship program.
- Support projects or interim coverage needs in other key areas within the Human Resources division.

Bachelors Degree and no experience OR Associates Degree and a minimum of 2 years experience OR HS Diploma and a minimum of 4 years experience |

REQUIRED * Demonstrated ability to build consultative, collaborative relationships with leaders and co-workers at all levels. * Demonstrated ability to identify and assess human capital needs. * Strong communication and organizational skills. * Change management skills. * Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Demonstrated high level of confidentiality and discretion. * Excellent analysis and decision making skills. * Solid knowledge of employment laws and regulations governing HR programs. * Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job. PREFERRED * PHR or SHRM-CP * Human resource generalist experience or labor relations experience in a unionized organization. * Previous experience in a health care organization. |
