General Summary

Under general supervision, but in accordance with policies, practices and procedures, works with Member Service Representatives to help assist members with IRAs. Responsible for processing daily account transactions and documentation. Maintain Individual Retirement Account (IRA) files to insure accurate account documentation and tax reporting to members and the Internal Revenue Service. Tasks will involve member and occasionally third-party contact.

Major Duties & Responsibilities



  1. Responsible for opening, processing, closing, maintaining all IRA documentation/portfolios including IRA Projections
  2. Prepares basic transfers, distributions, rollovers, conversions, death claims, and closures in accordance with government regulations and credit union policies.
  3. Process Required Minimum Distribution set-ups.
  4. Handles the processing of IRA account information with the Credit Unions' third-party vendor; assures vendor information is correct, reviews end of period tax reporting prior to distribution to the members and the IRS.
  5. Provides accurate information to members regarding IRA account information, policies, procedures and applicable regulations.
  6. Provides professional internal member service and support to other departments by answering questions regarding IRAs.
  7. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.

Experience and Skills

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: One (1) year financial institution experience, preferably with strong familiarization with IRAs.

Skills: Demonstrated Microsoft Office skills - (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and the ability to operate standard office equipment. Research analysis and problem-solving skills. Organizational skills and detail oriented. Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.

Action Oriented: Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm.

Member Focus: Uses active listening skills to gain understanding of the needs of others to build strong relationships (internal/external) and deliver member focused service.

Salary: Minimum $52,878.83 - $79,318.24 Maximum

Supervisory: None Required
