Cashier - Day Shift (English Required)

WORK SHIFT

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Greets employees/customers in a friendly and welcome manner.
• Enters purchases into cash register to calculate total purchase price.
• Accepts Payroll deduction and bankcards for payment. Issues receipt if requested.
• Completes assigned daily cleaning and stocking tasks.
• Keeps register area neat and stocked with necessary supplies. Keeps retail area clean, orderly and presentable.
• Performs other tasks, as required.

* Lifting -- Not to exceed 50 lbs. - local practice may apply.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Ability to operate the cash register and credit card equipment.
* Ability to read, write, and do simple math.
* Ability to follow through on assigned tasks.
* Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate well with others.
* Ability to be self-motivated and do what needs to be done.
* Ability to work as a member of a team.

PREFERENCES

* Experience as a cashier
* Education equivalent to a High School diploma.

COMPETENCIES

* Math skills
* Ability to communicate and interact positively with the public
* Reading, writing and communication skills
* Operation of credit card equipment and cash register

COMMENTS

Infectious Control Risk Category II:

The risk category explains whether or not employees are likely to come into contact with blood or body fluids while performing their jobs. Risk category II states employment and procedures that may require exposure.
