Job Summary:

We are seeking an energetic, driven, results-oriented Commodity Manager, Machined and Molded Parts. The Commodity Manager would be responsible for managing about $100M worth of raw material and finished good purchases. This is a highly visible and critical role responsible for driving disruptive productivity gains across Belden's product portfolio. The Commodity Management team is a small, hand-picked team consisting of extremely talented, creative, hard-working and fun loving associates who are passionate about what they do. The commodity management roles at Belden foster a blend of creative commercial and technical skillsets, which in turn act as a launching pad for successful careers in many other functions at Belden, be it managing other direct or indirect spend categories or managing other areas of the supply chain.

Responsibilities:




  • Develop new sources to address supply base inadequacies and resolve supplier performance issues.
  • Negotiating price and other cost reductions to achieve PPV (purchase price variance) targets
  • Utilizing strong negotiation and communication skills (price, min buys, lead times, payment terms)
  • Managing supplier lead times and quality metrics
  • Purchasing in a global environment to support production facilities in multiple locations



Required Skills and Experience




  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business with basic experience in supply chain management, prefer Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering
  • 5+ years of industry experience with exposure to procurement/ supply chain, ideally some experience in managing raw material and/or finished goods sourcing or purchasing
  • Ability to manage projects across multiple geographic regions / time zones
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills within a complex organization
  • Strong analytical skills, software proficiency in ERP/MRP, MS Excel/Word/Access, Hyperion, Tableau



Preferred Qualifications:




  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience in business case modeling and statistical forecasting
  • Proven results leading major machined and molded sourcing projects in a global environment
