JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance operations of a facility or plant to ensure that machinery, equipment, and systems are functioning efficiently and safely. This role involves leading a team of technicians, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Essential Job Duties:

Supervision & Leadership:

  • Supervise a team of maintenance technicians and provide leadership to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Allocate and prioritize daily maintenance tasks based on urgency and operational needs.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians, ensuring continuous skill development.
  • Review and evaluate technician performance regularly, offering feedback and improvement plans.


Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:

  • Oversee the implementation of preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure corrective maintenance activities are executed swiftly to resolve equipment failures or malfunctions.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend upgrades, replacements, or modifications to improve reliability.


Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, reporting any discrepancies or areas for improvement.


Equipment Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of equipment conditions, repairs, and parts inventories.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers for procurement of materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
  • Work with other departments to ensure alignment of maintenance activities with production schedules.


Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving:

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex technical issues affecting machinery and equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team during equipment breakdowns or emergencies.


Budget & Resource Management:

  • Assist in budgeting for maintenance projects and repairs.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources, tools, and materials to minimize costs.


2. Qualifications and Experience


  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational Training Certification and/or associate's degree in Mechanic/Technician/Operations Management and Supervision a preferred.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in a maintenance or technical role, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Proven experience in industrial equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Proficiency with maintenance management software
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and technical expertise.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and industry standards.


3. Physical Requirements


  • Ability to lift and carry equipment or parts up to 50lbs.
  • The ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods.


4. Working Conditions


  • Willingness to work in industrial settings with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • May require shift work, weekends, or on-call availability depending on operational needs.
