The hiring range for this role is:

$25.00 - $25.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the hiring range and this hiring range may also be modified in the future. A candidate's position within the hiring range may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.This job is also eligible for annual bonus incentive pay.

This internship is located in Chicago, IL. This is a hybrid position with 3-4 days in-office.

As an intern, you will be at the foundational level of using GenAI tools to support the competitive positioning of BCBS Plans in the Medicaid line of business. The Market Solutions Performance and Intelligence team (MSPI) is seeking an Intern to help drive BCBS System priorities as they relate to supporting Plans retain and grow branded BCBS membership in government markets. The intern will develop recommendations and standard processes on applying GenAI tools in a practical real-world business setting. Through this internship, you will develop skills in developing a product and process from the ground up, translating complex qualitative and unstructured quantitative data into insights, and experience in responsibly using AI tools with clients. The intern will be a valued part of a team developing a new workstream and platform to support Plan efforts to win and grow BCBS branded membership.

Primary Job Functions

  • Break down large amounts of qualitative data and unstructured quantitative data for analysis by GenAI tools; capture and communicate insights

  • Develop standardized approaches to analyzing qualitative and quantitative information and assess the overall effectiveness of GenAI tools to scale up competitive intelligence program

  • Organize and communicate insights generated by AI tools

  • Develop content knowledge on the government lines business

  • Ensure complete confidentiality of company business.

  • Keep management informed about developments within areas of responsibility and handle special projects as needed.

  • Create a final PowerPoint presentation to share with department leadership, summarizing the internship experience, the assigned project, results, and any recommendations for future use.

  • Adhere to HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies, and other relevant corporate and departmental policies.

Education, Experience and Certification

Education

Required:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business or related field

  • Graduation date between December 2025 - June 2026

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0

  • Availability to work ten weeks during the summer

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong analytic skills. Experience with Microsoft Excel required

  • Strong computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint preferred. Experience with Microsoft CoPilot or Tableau a bonus.

  • Experience in identifying data/information needs; acquiring and organizing data

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Self-starter with good time management skills

  • Proactive and eager to learn
