POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for managing the Company's global tax compliance activities and assisting senior financial management in designing and/or assessing tax planning strategies. Tax compliance includes income, franchise, sales and use, VAT/GST, property, business privilege and similar taxes applicable in the United States and other countries in which the Company operates. This position manages the preparation and timely filing of required tax returns, jurisdictional registrations and payments of taxes, fees, and related charges. This position will also manage the quarterly/annual global income tax provision and tax expense management. Activities relating to income taxes and certain other more complex tax matters are managed in conjunction with external professional service firms and service providers. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of tax regulations, superior analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Manage the preparation and filing of federal, state and local income tax returns in the United States, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Oversee and manage the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns through applicable systems (currently Avalara) and VAT/GST filings to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage the preparation and filing of income tax returns in the various international jurisdictions in which the Company operates, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Oversee the income tax provision process, including the quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and related financial statement disclosures.
- Manage compliance with other taxes, including franchise, property, business privilege and similar taxes on a global basis.
- Lead the Company's response to audits and inquiries from tax authorities and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
- Manage tax-related accounts including expenses, taxes payable/receivable, and deferred income tax assets/liabilities.
- Coordinate tax compliance activities with external service providers, including professional tax service firms and compliance service providers (such as Avalara and Vistra).
- Identify, develop and/or implement process improvements to facilitate timely, accurate and efficient accumulation of tax-related information.
- Assist senior financial management with identification and implementation of tax-saving strategies and opportunities to minimize the company's overall tax liability.
- Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis group on annual and long-range financial planning for tax-related balances and expense.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to provide strategic advice to senior financial management as requested on tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax-related matters and support payroll team with tax related matters when requested.
- Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the Company.
- Assist with tax analyses and special projects, including mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required Accounting, Finance, or comparable field or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- 7+ years of experience in comparable position, preferably in a public company or public accounting environment
- Strong knowledge of US federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
- General understanding of the international tax environment
- Effective organizational and communications skills across all levels in the organization
- Advanced Excel skills and IT systems acumen
- Effecting report writing and verbal communication skills
- problem solving and troubleshooting experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master of taxation or similar graduate degree
- CPA certification
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Work on premises at least 40% of the time
- Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as needed
- Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull as needed
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
