COLUMBIA Program Representative - Senior/Specialist/Principal
Overview COLUMBIA Program Representative - Senior/Specialist/Principal, Onsite Support at Newport News Shipbuilding (HII-NNS) The COLUMBIA (CLB) Program is Electric Boat's largest and most important construction program, and you can be part of the team that leads it! Construction efforts on the CLB Program are ramping up, and we need exceptional people to lead the program. Construction Program Representatives (CPR) lead the functional areas of EB with the goal of achieving all program objectives. CPR's fill a variety of roles, such as material/vendor logistics support, planning and design, engineering liaison, and coordinating the construction of CLB module CPRs are responsible for approving critical decisions involving cost, schedule, quality, and continuous improvement, continuously measuring each functional area's performance against objectives, initiating prompt corrective action, and representing EB to the Navy (SOSNN/PMS397) and Huntington Ingalls Industries - Newport News Shipbuilding (HII-NNS) for all program issues. The CLB CPR position is located at the Electric Boat site office at HII-NNS facility in Newport News, Virginia. The ideal candidate is well-organized, an excellent communicator, thinks strategically but can professionally address urgent and emergent tactical issues. The selected candidate is a self-starter, bringing new and innovative ideas for improvement of the CLB Construction Program. CPRs are the direct representative of the Program Manager, and will be the voice of the Program Office to the HII-NNS deckplate team. This position is a tremendous opportunity to learn about all functional areas of both HII-NNS and EB, while also contributing to a key enterprise need. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading all functional areas with readiness, execution and delivery of CLB Class submarine modules from the HII-NNS shipyard. This is a high visibility position to shipyard and senior leadership. Successful candidates, with experience, will be expected to engage with all levels of management to report progress, seek assistance, and manage activities to ensure timely corrective actions are taken and sustained to meet contract requirements. Engagement will be throughout the waterfront organizations, including Planning, Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Test, Contracts, Finance, and SOSNN. Occasional overtime and travel to Electric Boat facilities in Connecticut and Rhode Island may be required. Qualifications Required:
Four-years applicable NAVY experience OR Four-years applicable shipyard experience
