Summary
Under general supervision, responsible for supporting the Web Press Operator with duties required to run
the press, including but not limited to ensure consistent access to the correct paper stock, ink, foil and
additional consumables needed for the job. Operates the press as back up for Web Press Operator when
needed.
Essential Functions

* Supports the Web Press Operator in all make ready activities.
* Supports the Web Press Operator in all tear down or wash up activities.
* Performs quality checks and completes associated documentation as required by SOP's, QA, or
customer special instructions.
* Anticipates the next job and prepares paper stock, plates and ink before the make ready.
* Stages upcoming jobs as needed, following lean principles and practices.
* Cuts cores as needed for jobs and general housekeeping for pressroom cleanliness.
* Uses production management system to accurately record time, materials, and job codes.
* Develop ability to operate the press as backup when needed to cover Web Press Operators who
are on break, lunch and eventually PTO.
* Performs preventative maintenance operations on the press as directed by the Operator.
* Participates in trouble shooting problems on press.
* Follows standard operating procedures as established by the company.
* Communicates the ending job and shift status to the next shift operator coming on shift.
* Observes recycling guidelines and limits waste of materials and supplies.
* Runs Rotoflex or Slitter for all Web Presses.
* Able to backfill in other Press and Production support roles when needed or when press is down.
* Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
* Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety
regulatory consideration.

Minimum Qualifications
* High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
* One year experience in production and/or print press support role; OR 2 years of print
manufacturing experience.
* Basic computer skills.
* Required to frequently lift and move up to 48 pounds, required to occasionally lift and move up to
70 pounds.
* Required to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as necessary.
* Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short
correspondence and memos.
* Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
* Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience and training running a press independently on a limited basis.
* Passing with a Superior Score on the Farnsworth-Munsell 100-Hue Color Vision Test.
* College business or printing coursework.
* Vocational or technical training focused on print operation.
* Basic understanding of UV and water base inks, rotary foil, and embossing. Also should have an
understanding of in-fed and out-fed web tensions.
* Experience with Production Management System (Radius), Excel, Word, Access and Outlook.

Compensation
1. Hiring Hourly Rate: $24.71-$29.04.
