Job Summary

The Loudoun County, Virginia, Department of Building and Development (Department) is seeking applications for the position of Engineering Technician III on the Infrastructure Compliance Team. This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

* Reviewing and processing Individual Lot Grading Plans in addition to Wall Check Surveys, ensuring their timely reviews and serving as the primary contact in the Department for these applications.
* Performing site inspections to verify conformance with approved engineering plans, studies, etc. in accordance with the County's performance bonding requirements.
* Work closely with the Virginia Department of Transportation, Homeowner's Associations, and industry representatives to facilitate the release and transfer of maintenance responsibilities for roads and associated stormwater infrastructure.
* Serving as point of contact and overall Project Manager for the processing of performance bond release/reduction requests. Coordinating directly with internal and external agencies, applicants and owners to resolve construction deficiencies which would prevent the release or reduction of associated performance bonds.
* Facilitating transparent government operations by updating project records and databases completely and accurately.
* Providing good customer service by responding to citizen inquiries regarding procedures, regulations, application status, and other relevant data available to the Department.

The ideal candidate will be a highly effective communicator capable of conveying complex technical information in a clear and tactful fashion. The best match will possess a civil engineering or construction background which demonstrates resourcefulness, flexibility and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Theperfect fit will be highly proficient in relevant computer systems and be comfortable communicating through virtual media.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.


Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree; two (2) years of related work experience preferably related to stormwater,management, engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
