Job Summary

The College of Education Grant Research Coordinator is responsible for fostering a culture of grant-seeking and research within the college. This position serves as an internal resource and advocate for faculty, particularly junior faculty, by guiding them through the grant development process and aligning efforts with university policies and the external grants office. The role focuses on collecting and tracking grant activity, supporting proposal development, and connecting faculty to university and external resources, including Hanover or other grant-seeking platforms. The coordinator works to nurture faculty confidence in pursuing external funding opportunities while building strategic collaborations across the college and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Host workshops, seminars, and one-on-one sessions to build faculty expertise in grant proposal development, budgeting, and submission
  • Serve as the college's primary liaison to the university's grants office and other central units to ensure alignment with institutional policies and processes
  • Act as a point of contact for grant support platforms to ensure faculty are informed of resources and opportunities available to them
  • Facilitate collaboration among faculty to foster interdisciplinary research proposals
  • Maintain a comprehensive record of grant activity within the college, including active grants, proposals in development, and long-term funding goals
  • Provide reports to leadership on grant activity and areas of opportunity
  • Review and provide feedback on proposals to ensure clarity, alignment with funder requirements, and competitiveness
  • Assist faculty in budget development, ensuring compliance with university and funding agency requirements
  • Support the routing and approval processes for grant submissions, acting as a resource for troubleshooting and clarifications
  • Provide technical guidance on award setup, project monitoring, and close-out processes
  • Assist in identifying potential funding sources aligned with faculty research interests
  • Partner with the university's grants office to ensure the college remains informed of policy changes and best practices


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business, Communications, or Related Field

Required Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of related work experience


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
  • Master's Degree Education, Business, Communications, or Related Field

Preferred Experience
  • Five (5) or more years of related work experience in an Education field, Understanding of USG policies, familiarity with Georgia Southern University leadership, faculty and staff


Proposed Salary

$24.12 - $30.75 per hour

This is an non-exempt position paid on a hourly basis.

  • Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
  • Possesses strong research skills to effectively locate information in various forms and locations, aiding in comprehensive data gathering for the research team
  • Skilled in conducting detailed and thorough analyses of grant proposals, letters, and emails to offer comprehensive support to the research team
