GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision performs essential leadership in motivating and maintaining self and assigned work team(s) in a high productive environment. The Lead position will be assigned specific work assignments that requires individual attention to complete in an accurate and efficient manner. The Lead will lead activities of shipping personnel. Provide feedback to include any concerns or suggestions to improve safety, the work assignment(s), personnel, infrastructure, quality and product.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (ALL):

  • Lead shipping teams to accomplish safely on-time, complete, correct assignments.
  • Actively looking for unsafe behaviors and conditions.
  • Ensure safety precautions are taken when mobile equipment is being operated.
  • Verify applicable record keeping ensuring accuracy and completeness of all orders (VL10A, VL06, ZCMANIFEST).
  • Lead the shipping process, assist with communication to freight carrier drivers, keep track of which drop trailers are full, and work to keep the shipping team efficient, and ship on time, complete, and correct.
  • Responsible for picking and shipping finished product.
  • Ensures the quality of FGs in the shipping process.
  • Assist to unload inbound transfers of FG to support shipping and rework.
  • Assist with the storage and organization of packaging components, assist with on-hand cycle counts, and work to efficiently retrieve components and labels to support shipping in eCommerce, and ensure that correct components are available for shipping on time, complete, and correct.
  • Coordinate and communicate replenishment of components needed, to the eCommerce supervisors and analyst, including cartons, tape sealer tape, and labels.
  • Follows and encourage all safety practices reporting any concerns to a Safety team member or member of Management.
  • Assist with lockup, and leadership coverage and ability to communicate effectively with Sanford management as backup support to the supervisors.
  • Coordinate inventory cycle counts as needed.
  • Report any downtime or repair needed to shipping equipment, including but not limited to conveyors, tape sealers, dock plates, and rollup doors.
  • Assist with the training and transition of new or transferred employees. Keep training documents up to date.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to perform eCommerce Order Shipping and maintain a safe and organized Shipping area.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred.
  • Ability to work individually or with a group.
  • Ability and flexibility to perform assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintain momentum during order volume changes.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures. Report any employee or process concerns to Management.
  • Have the necessary skills to safely load trucks, assist with finished goods picking and packing and put-away, and ensure that correct components are available for shipping on time, complete, and correct.
  • Ability to lift >50 lbs. on occasion, walk, stand, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, climb, carry, etc.
  • Ability to be certified to operate mobile equipment including but not limited to electric pallet jack, forklift, order picker.
