Inside the Role

Responsible for long-term supply chain strategies and networks that address capacity issues and production location decisions in support of business goals. Supports business execution of new programs and initiatives that include promotional activities, forecast and coordination for key events, new product launches, and network redesigns. Monitors key sales and operations planning performance indicators, cost-to-serve performance data, and coordinates cross-functional work teams to increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives.

Position offers a starting salary range of $74,500.00- $95,000.00 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Responsible for network strategy including coordinating the design of warehouse locations and operations to facilitate smooth product flow.

  • Monitor network performance and recommend schedule changes, cost adjustments or resource allocations.

  • Identify enhancements to production parts movement from first tier supplier into Daimler manufacturing facilities.

  • Identify and define new approaches and systems for transportation planning and operations.

  • Perform complex analytics and statistical modelling on large data sets to optimize supply chain operations workflow, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.

  • Perform transportation cost studies that drive procurement decision-making.

  • Apply data analysis methodologies to identify supply chain optimization and simulate the impact of proposed initiatives.

  • Partner with operations team to understand and frame operational problems for further analysis.

  • Ensure network design meets requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule, and cost.

  • Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.

  • Conduct risk analysis and monitor the process and plans against milestones and budgets.

  • Develop workflows, standard processes, and methods for existing and future workstreams.

  • Collect and analyze data to assess the efficiency and costs of logistics processes.

  • Use statistical modeling skills to develop, and cost justify logistics solutions to meet customer needs.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience with transportation strategy development, supply chain planning, or logistics operations required.

  • Experience with data organization, data scrubbing, data management, and process mapping and design.

  • Experience in project management, negotiations, transportation logistics or related areas.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Excel, Work, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience in supply chain and/or automotive manufacturing.

  • Experience with detail cost planning and reporting.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical ability and demonstrated problem solving skills.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Master's degree in logistics engineering or related field.

  • Knowledge of transportation logistics processes and concepts.

  • Very good intercultural intelligence and people skills required.

  • Knowledge of vehicle manufacturing industry and logistics
