This is a unique opportunity to make an impact on Gartner's core business of providing research and advisory services to CIOs and top technology executives. We are looking for a bold, creative product leader who can drive the Product Management for our flagship research business and be responsible for innovating our CIO-focused subscription products by leveraging our comprehensives sources of value including insights, tools, experiences and interactions to address the needs of CIOs and senior-most technology leaders.

The Managing Vice President (MVP) will be a critical member of the Global Product Management leadership team and should have a passion for building products that deliver high value to target clients across a range of industries, solving hard problems, and prioritizing efforts to maximize client value.

This leader must be passionate about delivering value to clients and will be responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including understanding the client role, quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify and prioritize innovations, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, implementing and launching solutions and new products, and tracking progress and impact. The MVP will be responsible for product innovation and portfolio management for our CIO products and will need to apply lean product principles to new product features and sources of client value.

What you will do:

This leader will be responsible for variety of contributions including:

  • Owning the understanding of the CIO role, strategy development, business case development, product build & launch for innovations
  • Incubating pilot products, including identifying & analyzing key business metrics to uncover reasons for success, reasons for obstacles and deliver needed enhancement
  • Project managing through the development process from concept through to launch. Ensuring continued impact and tracking progress of metrics post-launch
  • The ability to prioritize. Presented with meaningful imperatives and a mountain of data, you can identify and organize clear, concise actions; Growth mentality and being able to build, measure and learn.
  • Developing and presenting regular updates to top executives, including our CEO, senior leaders and cross-functional partners. This will include leading brainstorming & collaborative problem-solving sessions with Research, Service delivery, Sales and others to finalize product concept, features/functionality and successfully implement products and experiences.
  • Building high performing teams that work collaboratively and make an impact for the organization

What you will need:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in product management leadership; Preferred: Product Management experience in a B2B environment, serving technology executives, and/or in an insights subscription business
  • Strong domain expertise in the top priorities of CIOs and top technology executives
  • Experience in a professional services function (e.g., management consulting) serving senior technology executives a plus
  • Experience in an insights subscription business a plus
  • Strong understanding of product management best practices and product lifecycle
  • Passionate about technology and ability to work with engineering, customer experience, customer research, and other product-related functions to conceive and design innovations with strong product-market fit
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative business analytics, including ability to turn quantitative analysis into actionable recommendations with measurable business impact
  • Ability to lead/influence cross-functional teams across all levels of the organization and work collaboratively in a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • A bias for action, including balancing tradeoffs, a willingness to roll up their sleeves and do what it takes to get things done
  • Ability to work in a culture that thrives on feedback and seeks opportunities to stretch outside comfort zone
  • Ability to coach/mentor team members

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 200,000 USD - 261,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
