Inova Health is looking for a dedicated Financial Performance Analyst 3 - Managed Care to join the Team. This remote role will be full-time day-shift working Monday - Friday.

The Financial Performance Analyst 3 - Managed Care works with leadership and other health system teams on routine and ad-hoc projects spanning across service lines and divisions. Analyzes financial trends (moderate to complex) for improvement and efficiency opportunities. Assists with a broad range of financial and analytical functions, including but not limited to: report logic development, process design, project implementation, data gathering, data validation, and reporting processes for internal and external financial analytics reporting. Reviews processes and maintains data integrity of selected data sources and applications.

Financial Performance Analyst 3 - Managed Care Job Responsibilities:



  • Collaborates with operational service line leaders, Finance, Information Technology, Analytics and other departments on routine and ad-hoc projects.
  • Analyzes moderate- to complex data sources containing financial data, costs, revenue trends, and performance metrics for areas of opportunities and proposes recommendations for improvement and efficiency.
  • Develops and tests of reports and analyses from various sources (e.g. financial ERP, electronic health records, benchmark tools).
  • Develops report logic, process design and implementation of projects and processes (e.g. cost accounting).
  • Conducts data gathering and reporting of financial and statistical metrics on state and external surveys (e.g. VHI, AHA).
  • Reviews processes and projects to ensure proper data definitions are defined and data integrity is upheld throughout all reports and dashboards.
  • Works with Data Management & Business Intelligence team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal stakeholders and external partners.


Financial Performance Analyst 3 - Managed Care Additional Requirements:



  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, remote
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or 4 additional years of experience in addition to the minimum experience required
  • Experience: 3 years in Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Business, Statistics, related field or equivalent operational experience


Financial Performance Analyst 3 - Managed Care Preferred Qualifications:



  • Previous experience working in healthcare finance, ideally in managed care and hospital reimbursement preferred
  • Expertise in advanced analytic methods/applications with a strong command of healthcare reimbursement methodologies, including DRG, CPT, Case Rates, Per Diem, etc. preferred
  • Broad and deep knowledge and understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies, the managed care marketplace, and current trends in health insurance preferred
  • Advanced skills in contract/data management systems or platforms, such as Finthrive, Synthellis, Turquoise Health or others similar preferred
  • Experience working with PowerBI (or other data visualization tools) and expert Excel skills preferred


This position is eligible for remote work for candidates residing in the following states - VA, MD, DC, DE, FL, GA, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, WV.
