Your Role on the Team

Maintaining strict confidentiality with case information, primarily responsible for the update and maintenance of the office case management system, which tracks all complaints of discrimination, sexual harassment, and sex offenses reported to the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity. Enters new complaints into the case management system, records the status of open cases and finalizes data for closed cases. Prepares statistical reports on discrimination, sexual harassment, and sex offenses.

Develops, implements, and provides support for outreach and education initiatives related to discrimination, sexual harassment, sex offenses, and diversity. Performs backup administrative support to other functions of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity, including front-desk support during regular business hours, and other projects as assigned.

Uses ethics and compliance concepts. Applies campus policies and procedures to evaluate a variety of ethics and / or compliance issues. Responsible for conducting and documenting moderately complex assignments where analysis of situations and data requires the review and interpretation of a variety of factors.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $33.29 - $34.98 (Hourly).

Required:

  • Ability to gather, organize, and complete analysis for intermediate audit assignments.
  • Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. Skills in seeking more information and asking questions when assignments are unclear.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with tact and diplomacy.
  • Skilled in statistical analysis, data administration and ability to provide time-sensitive reports.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and contribute both as an individual and a team member to achieve the goals of the department.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences, ability to communicate respectfully and to work collaboratively. Understanding and sensitivity to the principles of affirmative action and diversity.
  • 3-5 years experience in a professional office setting, preferably in a related field and higher education

Preferred:

  • Intermediate knowledge of the ethics and compliance function.
  • Experience in providing support to investigators or as a paralegal in a law firm.
  • Experience in working with case management systems, complaint handling, and preventive trainings.
  • Experience in responding to and maintaining compliance with external regulatory requirements.
  • In-depth understanding of policies overseen by the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity to include sexual harassment, sex offense and non-discrimination policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Working knowledge and experience interpreting and analyzing University policies and implementing campus processes, protocols and procedures.
  • Fluency in one or more languages, in addition to English.
