Your Opportunity

The Operations Finance team is seeking out a driven, detail-oriented professional to assist in various aspects of product costing and analysis.

An Operations Finance Analyst works closely with operations, sales, business development and other departments to ensure products carry the correct product costing throughout all phases of the manufacturing process.

Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare, distribute, and analyze operational results in different formats and over different timeframes.It requires the knowledge of where to retrieve the information and the skill set to accurately present the data.

  • Perform a daily function of gathering the USDA quotes, calculating our base standard costs and loading them in a timely manner into multiple systems. Validating that the process was completed successfully and being able to work with auditors periodically to review the procedures & backup.

  • Accounting and analytical support for the hog procurement function, including reconciling the monthly hog purchases, posting entries for monthly hog cost, confirming lien status, and working with the livestock departments on differences between the GL and Hog Pro system. Responsible for submitting payments & reporting on the National Pork Board website, calculating & requesting payments for monthly Pork Council payments of hog purchases and Hartford insurance premiums.

  • Supply operational departments the necessary information to make informed decisions on how to increase the standard value of specific products. Including when it is beneficial to cut down bellies, cut down spareribs, or sending certain Trim POLs to Rendering.

  • Provide SAP product costing and other related system training and support

  • Provides direction to the plant accounting teams to ensure cost request data is being returned timely and the information is accurate

  • Perform first level cost review for packaged meats cost requests and provide executive summaries for review with Sr. Management.

  • Become fluent in SAP transactions BOM and product costing reviews; labor audits; ABC costing methodologies; plant scorecard production reporting; and variance allocations

  • Provide ad hoc analysis and get involved in special projects as required. Instruction may come from within or outside of the department. Time commitments will vary

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 2+ years' prior experience in manufacturing and/or consumer packaged goods, preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office's Excel, Word and Outlook.

  • Strong analytical and variance analysis skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with internal departments

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of database management.

  • Understanding of systems integration for moving data from one system to another.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to complete projects timely and accurately.

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment

  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment

  • Travel up to 25% - 35% to plant locations.
