At Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. Our team is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide support in the following areas:

* Providing administrative and technical direction of the activities within the engineering discipline.
* Providing decision-making and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and with significant impact on engineering activities.
* Demonstrating creativity, adaptive thinking and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and/or solving complex or novel engineering problems.
* Supporting staff supervision responsibilities or special administrative duties as assigned by the engineering manager.
* Providing design/design review of the existing 324 Building Disposition Project design media.
* Developing logic, duration and estimates for discipline's portion of the engineering schedule, and review of the schedule periodically to ensure that it is maintained and that expenditures are kept within budget limits.
* Assisting in development of operation and maintenance procedures.
* Supporting development of Engineering Change Requests (ECR's), Design Change Notices (DCN's) and redlines per procedure.
* Monitoring installation activities to ensure compliance with the engineered design associated with mechanical installations.
* Assisting in resolution of field installation issues, providing input to construction field changes and supporting during Construction Acceptance Test (CAT) and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP).


Basic Qualifications


* Career Level Grade 18: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 6 or more years of relevant experience.

* Career Level Grade 19: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 8 or more years of relevant experience.

The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.


Desired Qualifications


* Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
* Experience with subcontract oversite, to include review and approval of design and fabrication submittals, and subcontract formation and management.
* Experience with DOE Nuclear Safety requirements.
* Professional Engineering (PE) License.
* Experience using Document Management & Control Systems (DMCS), including issuing documents.
* Experience with Hot Cell Equipment Design.
* Proficiency with AutoCAD 2017 and SOLIDWORKS 2018 or newer software for mechanical designs.
* Experience with HVAC systems, effluent systems, and facility cranes.


Compensation & Benefits


In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.

Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):

* Career Level Grade 18: $106,663 - $134,588.

* Career Level Grade 19: $117,225 - $147,775.

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
