Bloomington-Wine Manager

The Wine Manager's primary responsibility is to drive the wine business. The Wine Manager develops a strong customer base and builds relationships to maximize repeat visits; as well as fosters a collaborative work environment, ensuring a positive internal and external customer experience. In addition, the Wine Manager assists in store management responsibilities and provides sales leadership and product knowledge inspiration to the team.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates exceptional service, selling skills and strong customer engagement
• Highly visible on the sales floor to customers and associates, especially during peak transaction time
• Provides sales leadership by seeking out and helping to communicate daily and weekly sales goals
• Readily teaches and inspires store staff with wine knowledge
• In charge of the store's wine tasting program, following company guidelines in the planning and execution
• Identifies, plans, and executes in-store and off-site events, including conducting classes.
• Competent with classic food and wine pairing strategies; well versed in party planning
• Familiar with delivery procedures and ABC regulations on large purchases
• Regularly attends tastings, with primary responsibility to share knowledge from these events with all staff members
• Specifically able to work; evenings, weekends and periods leading up to major retail holidays
• Ensures company standards are met for store and associate appearance at all times
• Assists in the maintenance of the store to ensure cleanliness and organization at all times
• Assists in the execution of the merchandising, campaigns, and sales promotions as necessary and communicates these effectively to management and staff
• Responsible to have a complete understanding and maintenance of the wine department presentation expectations
• Works closely with wine vendors and assists in stocking and presenting wine merchandise
• Enforces all company policies and procedures, including health, safety, and security
• Assists the General Manager with any store management responsibilities as needed

Requirements

• 5 years minimum experience in the wine industry, 2 years minimum with Binny's
• WSET2 or higher, Sommelier Certification or similar credentials
• Completed Binny's LMS Starter and Intermediate Series and has shown a commitment to continued education
• Able to work evenings, weekends and periods leading up to major retail holidays
• Dependable transportation
• Professional and detail oriented

Preferences:

• Previous management experience
• Binny's Customer Service Level training
• Proficient in the Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint

*The pay range for this position is $24.00-$28.00
