Responsibilities

Arcfield provides systems engineering, integration, and digital transformation across space, air, land, sea, and cyber domains. Come join our GEOINT Ground team within the NRO's Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED) as a SETA contractor on the Geralt program. In this position as a Model Based Systems Engineer Technical Specialist, you will:

  • Work as Systems Engineer and Technical Assistant (SETA) to the Government
  • Assess existing mission and ground segment architectures and incorporate into Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) efforts
  • Coordinate regularly with development contractors to assess their respective system architectures, incorporate their models into the greater mission architecture diagrams, and ensure government stakeholders are satisfied with development contractor products
  • Support informal and enterprise testing events, providing digital engineering solutions to complex architecture discrepancies, identify pain-points and risks between system interfaces, and evaluate system performance under a variety of constraints
  • Digitally model Solution and Program Epics for agile mission threads, coordinating with ground segments and mission threads to assess their documented requirements and processes and incorporate into the Future Ground Architecture (FGA) 3.0 Template Model
  • Utilize organizational and communication skills to clearly and concisely present information, ensuring the government and all stakeholders are kept informed on program/mission status
  • Actively participate in program office, ground directorate, and enterprise-level forums, maintaining engagement on program/mission status of key space assets

Qualifications

Required:

  • BS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly
  • Experience with the United Modeling Framework (UAF), digital engineering, MBSE, and architecture modernization
  • Strong presentation, oral, and written communications skills, including the ability to produce clear, logical, and concise products to a government customer
  • Proven organization and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to interface effectively via written and oral forums with personnel at all levels of government
  • Ability to assess digital engineering models and engineering processes for accuracy and compliance with best practices
  • Experience with commercial Atlassian tools (e.g. Confluence, JIRA) or ability to learn quickly

Desired:

  • Knowledge of SAFe or Agile frameworks
  • Understanding of how to draft and manage Systems Engineering requirements, including waterfall and agile methodologies
  • Understanding of Electro-Optical (EO) and/or Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Mission Processing and Command and Control systems for GEOINT satellite ground systems
  • Understanding of EO and/or SAR GEOINT products and the image formation process
  • Understanding of common Systems Engineering documentation, such as Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Requests for Change (RFCs)
  • Experience with Systems Engineering risk management, end-to-end systems engineering, ground architectures, and verification/validation (V&V) processes
