Project - Building a Self Service Portal on backstage focusing on creating app OS images(Non-Docker) to Spin app-specific VM's IDP (Internal Developer Portal) Engineer We are hiring an IDP Engineer to develop and maintain the Backstage UI, integrating it with IaC and OCP automation. The ideal candidate will have experience in front-end development, API integrations, and portal management for developer platforms. Key Responsibilities: *Develop and maintain Backstage UI for internal developer self-service portals. *Integrate IaC and OCP automation into the portal for seamless VM provisioning. *Work on UI/UX enhancements to improve the developer experience. *Ensure API integration with various automation and DevOps tools. *Maintain and optimize portal security and scalability. Required Skills: *Kubernetes and OpenShift Expertise: Strong experience with OCP, Kubernetes architecture, operators, and custom resource definitions (CRDs). *Developer Portals: Hands-on experience with platforms like Backstage, Port, or similar tools for building developer experience platforms. *Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in Terraform, Crossplane, Helm, or similar tools for declarative resource management. *Automation and CI/CD: Experience with tools like Tekton, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD. *Programming Skills: Proficient in one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go, JavaScript). *Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware). *Observability and Monitoring: Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or *Skills* Openshift, Javascript, python, ReactJS, Angular, REST API, GitOps, Helm *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Other Responsibilities: *Design and develop an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that empowers application teams with self-service capabilities for application onboarding, namespace creation, and resource management. *Integrate and customize developer portals (e.g., Backstage, Port) to provide a unified platform for app teams. *Automate the provisioning of infrastructure and Kubernetes resources using tools like Helm, ArgoCD, and Crossplane. *Implement CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows on OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms. *Collaborate with platform engineering teams to enhance developer experience, ensuring governance, compliance, and scalability. *Integrate external systems such as service catalogs, monitoring tools, logging solutions, and CI/CD systems into the IDP. *Develop and enforce standards, templates, and guardrails for application teams to adopt cloud-native best practices. *Work with security teams to ensure secure access control, PKI integration, and compliance with organizational policies. *Support the integration of multi-cloud platforms (on-prem, GKE, AKS, AWS, VMware, etc.) within the IDP. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
