PALA Interstate, LLC Summary Constructs and erects metal tanks for storage of gases, liquids or other materials according to specifications. Assembles, analyzes defects in, and repairs boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, vats and related piping in the field following blueprints and using hand tools, power tools and various equipment. Reads, studies and interprets job specifications, plans and blue prints. Uses basic math skills including geometry, trigonometry to make calculations for work. Can complete difficult job tasks according to job specifications with minimal or no supervision. Essential Functions 1. Ability to understand and follow all safety rules and to set an example in Safety, Quality, and Production. Measurable criteria will be used in these areas to determine classification. 2. Ability to understand the interpretation of drawings, proper fit up, and scope of work. 3. Operation of burning torch, both hand and magnetic, that requires limited grinding to achieve finished work. 4. Ability to layout and properly fit bottoms, shell plate, nozzles, roof plate, inserts, etc. 5. Understand the proper use of key plates and fit up equipment to control banding and peaking in horizontal and vertical seams. 6. Operation of man lift. 7. Ability to erect tank scaffolding. 8. Ability to perform work without continuous supervision by foreman at job site. 9. Operation of all air and electric power tools used in the normal operation of tank repair. 10. Exemplify proper rigging techniques. 11. Ability to perform work under breathing air conditions. 12. Knowledge to tank terms and definitions. 13. Ability to use tank fit up equipment properly. 14. Ability to use proper hand signals when flagging cranes. 15. Knowledge of tools required to complete an assigned task and proper use and care of same. 16. Reviews permits, MSDS sheets and reads warning signs in the work area. Position Requirements
