Position Highlights |
The Center for Advanced Molecular and Immunological Therapies (CAMI) is inviting applicants to apply to the position of Research Technician I. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about immunology research and motivated to develop new treatments for cancer. The candidate should have training in basic cell culture techniques and be comfortable handling mice, with experience in immunological/molecular assays considered an asset. This individual should be detailed oriented, conscientious, and able to follow instructions and have the ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner orally and in writing.
Laboratory Requirements: Handling animals (living or deceased), animal tissues, fluids, or waste byproducts in a research setting. Bloodborne pathogens or other biological materials. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Under the supervision and guidance of the principalinvestigator, set up lab equipment following detailed procedures.
- Perform
routine laboratory procedures - Analyze
data, record information, and maintain logs of experimental data. Perform cell culture, transfections, and viability assays under sterile conditions. - Perform mouse handling, injections, tissue collection, and immunization experiments to evaluate performance of cancer vaccines.
- Coordinates the acquisition of lab suppliesand general lab upkeep.
- Assist
with managing lab safety protocol, waste material, and arranging for disposal according to established procedures. - Clean/sterilize instruments, glassware, and equipment.
- Additional duties
as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of the methods, materials and techniques used in cell culture and animal work.
- Knowledge of research and laboratory
equipment appropriate to the area of the assignment. - Skills in complying with laboratory safety regulations.
- Diligence and attention to detail in recording research data.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact and work professionally with others as a team.

Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
|
Preferred Qualifications |
- Previous research experience (internship, independent study).
- Broad familiarity and hands-on experience with general lab techniques.
- Prior mammalian cell culture and animal experience are preferred.
- Experience in immmunological/molecular assay is a plus.
