Student Research Assistant

Responsibilities are basic and routine in nature. This may include performing administrative duties in an office, assisting in a research laboratory, aid faculty/staff in supporting academic programs or patient care. Duties will be clear and direct. The Student Assistant will require excellent customer service and strong organizational skills and will represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values.

Assists with biological/health sciences research under supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) or Laboratory Manager; conducts library research; prepares media/solutions and reagents for experiments; performs various research techniques in the conduct of experiments with assistance from lab members; documents, organizes, and analyzes research data with oversight from senior lab members; operates complex laboratory equipment with the assistance and oversight from senior lab members.

Education Required

HS Graduate, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience and Qualifications Required and/or Desired

Work experience and/or completion of coursework in the basic sciences, including biology and chemistry required; proficiency with basic science laboratory equipment and techniques desired.

Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
