Your Role:

In this role, you will be responsible for the management of external funding grant activities, training activities, and other operational tasks within the Worldwide Medical function.

What you'll do:

  • External Funding

    • Management of the pre-award and post-award process for external funding activities (Investigator Initiated Research Grants, Independent Medical Education Grants, Evidence Dissemination Grants, etc).

    • Collaborate with Medical Affairs colleagues to develop strategic funding areas of focus annually

    • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and oversight of the internal decision-making review meetings and ensuring compliance to Baxter's policies and regulatory requirements.

    • Manages external funding budgets across assigned therapeutic areas, facilitates the execution of grant agreements including input for contract negotiation

    • Responsible for planning/tracking/managing payments and/or product shipments according to execution of contractual milestones.

    • Provides advanced analytical and operational support to Medical Affairs Segment/Division leaders under minimal supervision.

    • Proactively participates in continued process improvement and keeping informed of regulations concerning external funding

    • Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies

    • Works with the grant portal development team to continuously maintain, improve and enhance the online grant portal

  • Training

    • Collaborates with colleagues to design and develop training materials and learning programs

    • Responsible for the operationalizing training

    • Develop and conduct process and system specific trainings.

  • Other operational tasks and duties within Worldwide Medical

What you'll have:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum 2 years of external funding experience

  • Prior experience in Academia, life science industry

  • Strong communication, writing, analytic, and problem-solving skills required

  • Experience with Investigator Initiated Research, Independent Medical Education, including budgeting, preferred

  • Knowledge of external funding best practices

  • Strong organizational skills, project management, operational capabilities, self-motivated, exceptional follow through, and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to build strong relationships, effectively network, and partner with internal and external stakeholders (including physicians, PhDs, research investigators, etc)

  • Ability to manage multiple project/tasks/activities with competing priorities

  • Ability to thrive when working independently and when working as part of a team

  • Ability to work across multiple systems proficiently and strong technology skills including Microsoft Office products

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Vantive, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $96,000 to $110,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
